SUPERSEAL FCW
Flexible Polymer Cement Waterproofing Slurry
Description
Superseal FCW is a two parts, prepacked system, consisting of liquid polymer as Part A and a premixed powder as Part B. The two parts on mixing yield brushable, smooth slurry with excellent bond to most substrates. The product is based on selected synthetic resins and additives.
Application
Superseal FCW is designed to be use as an effective waterproofing membrane on a variety of substrates.
Waterproof coatings to the internal faces of water tanks, sumps, reservoirs, planter boxes etc. before tiling or other surface finishing.
Treating terraces, balconies, kitchen & toilet floors as a sandwich treatment, to prevent water ingress.
Treating bridge & flyover decks before wearing course to protect concrete from rainwater ingress.
Properties & Advantages
Supply form Part A: Liquid Part B: Powder

Working time Part A: @20°C Part B: 1hr (approx.)
Part A: @30°C Part B: 0.5hr (approx.)
Application temp. Part B: >5°C
Polymer Modified Improved bond strength on a variety of substrates.
Permeable to water vapors Allows surface to breathe, preventing build up vapor
Flexible Can stand moderate movements of hairline crack.
Crack bridging up to 0.3mm crack width.
Resistant to Weathering Suitable for use in exposed conditions.
Consistency Easy to apply by brush or spray.
Non-toxic Can be applied on surface in contact with drinking water.
Coverage
The minimum recommended coverage of Superseal FCW is 1 to 1.5 kg/m2 to get 0.5mm to 0.75mm thick film build per coat. Actual coverage depends upon the method of application, the texture and porosity of the surface. Therefore, materials required is approximately 2kg/m2 @ 1-1.5mm thickness in two coat.
How to Use
Correct substrate preparation is critical for optimum performance. Surfaces should be structurally sound, clean, and free from loose particles, oil, grease or any other contaminants. Cement laitance, loose particles, mould release agents, curing membrane and other contaminants must be removed by wet grit blasting, high pressure water jetting (approx. 150 bars) or such other effective method. Fill surface irregularities such as blow holes, honeycombs etc. with a repair mortar to achieve a smooth and level surface. Saturate the prepared substrate with clean water before applying Superseal FCW.
Mechanical mixing is necessary. A slow speed (600 rpm), heavy-duty drill with wing type paddle is recommended. Place approximately 75% of Part A of the pack in clean pail. Keeping the mixer running, add Part B slowly. Mix for at least 3 minutes to get lump-free homogenous mix. While continuing mix, add all the remaining Part A applying on vertical surfaces until the required consistency is obtained.
It is extremely important that the area being treated in shaded from direct sunrays and wind
to prevent rapid drying of the coating. Apply Superseal FCW everly with stiff brush, onto the prepared surfaced, to give a continuous film. The total fim build up should be 1 to 2mm on vertical & overhead surface and 1 to 3mm in case of horizontal surfaces which should be build up to 2 coats applied, one day apart. To avoid pinholes, before applying the second coat, spray water on the surface then apply the second coat at the right angles to the direction of first coat.
Slow drying of Superseal FCW membrane ensure homogenous curing and high waterproofing characteristic. Superseal FCW must be protected against rapid drying due to high temperatures or wind. Curing by wet burlap, polyethylene sheet or a curing compound such as Topcure is recommended.
